Last weekend I kicked off the new year with a New Year’s Eve Wedding in North Dakota and then met up with Elizabeth and Daniel for a Spearfish Engagement session. Check out these two!!!

Elizabeth and Daniel are getting married this June (right before my birthday!) in the southern Black Hills. They booked one of my first photo AND video packages, and I am so excited to celebrate with them. For their engagement session, we started at the mouth of the Spearfish Canyon. Before you head into the loops and beautiful scenery of the canyon, there’s a little pull-off. I won’t get into the details of where we went exactly, but it is one of my favorite, accessible locations just on the edge of town.

After a few minutes and several different poses, we continued to drive into the canyon. You can’t do photos in the canyon and not have an obligatory road photo!

From the canyon, we back-tracked into town and made a quick pit-stop so Elizabeth and Daniel could fuel their car. Then, we drove to the Spearfish City Park. When I was in college, the city park was my happy place! I love dipping my toes in the creek (when it’s warm enough!) or just going for a stroll in the fresh air.
