It isn’t often that I get to explore new areas at venues I’ve been to multiple times… but Camille and Tyser took me to a new angle of Falling Rock for their first look. It was stunning. Maybe a teensy bit sketchy, but absolutely gorgeous. The two also had some incredible details that their family worked so hard on putting together in the reception tent, and everyone enjoyed all of the little things throughout the day.
Falling Rock has always been one of my favorite locations for sunrise and engagement photos. I have even captured an elopement out on the cliff face, but Camille and Tyser took the popular location to a new level.
There are three little spots out on that rockface that you can choose from. Depending on how much you are willing to “hike” and what view you want, there is a little bit of everything. While Camille and Tyser shared their vows at the stunning Black Hills Reception and Rentals venue just outside of Rapid, they wanted their first look to be something unique.
Opting for the second alternative look at Falling Rock, I was able to explore a new area I had never been to before. DISCLAIMER: This second location is littered with graffiti and garbage. Unfortunately, it is a popular destination for the local high school groups who aren’t really into the Leave No Trace policies.
If you are planning to get married outdoors, have private vows or letter readings, escape during the couples portraits, please remember to respect the environment that you are in.
